| Explaination | The Law provides an exemption for one appointed to a regulatory or licensing unit (e.g. The Real Estate Commission) if the statute governing the board requires that persons subject to its jurisdiction (i.e. regulated by it) be appointed to it. Maryland Law requires that 5 member of the Maryland Real Estate Commission be Real Estate Licensees from various areas of the State. I am seeking and exemption to serve as the Baltimore City Industry member of the Real Estate Commission under this provision. Per the Appointee Exemption Disclosure Form instructions, I should seek an exemption as part of my re-appointment application. |
