| Explaination | I am a part-time student intern at the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS), which is based at the University of Maryland, College Park. UMCP is one of the institutions governed by the University System of Maryland Board of Regents. I have been working at ARLIS since May 2023, and I currently work 10 hours a week. I do not receive benefits. I qualify for an exemption based on the three criteria outlined in the Instructions document: a) this employment exists at the time of my appointment; b) I will adhere to all other aspects of the Ethics Law, including recusing myself from issues that may conflict with my employment; and c) I confirmed with Ana Henry, Assistant General Counsel, State Ethics Commission that I am not considered a state employee. |
