| Explaination | As the CEO of Kaleidoscope Affect, LLC, and as a board member at Westat, Capella University, and the Technology Advancement Center (TAC), hereby acknowledge potential conflicts of interest with respect to my appointment to this state commission. As CEO, my financial interest in Kaleidoscope Affect, which contracts with various state departments, could be perceived as conflicting with the commission's activities that might influence these departments. Moreover, the strategic interests of Westat, Capella, and TAC in sectors that may be regulated or affected by state policies could also influence my decisions on the commission.
The dual capacity of my roles might lead to situations where commission decisions could benefit or detrimentally affect these organizations, thereby influencing or appearing to influence my impartiality and decision-making. This disclosure is made in the spirit of full transparency and with the intent to clarify that these roles could potentially impact, or appear to impact, my unbiased participation and decision-making on the commission.
I seek exemptions for these potential conflicts to serve with integrity on this commission, ensuring that any decisions are made in the best interest of public service and without any undue influence from my professional responsibilities and affiliations. I am committed to ethical conduct and will recuse myself from any decisions where a direct conflict of interest is clear and substantial."
Procedure for Managing Conflicts: Should any specific issues arise that directly involve my affiliated organizations or their competitive interests, I will recuse myself from related discussions and decisions to maintain the integrity of the commission's work and to adhere to the highest standards of ethical governance." |
