| Explaination | The Work Group may make recommendations that impact non-profit legal services organizations, like the Public Justice Center, Inc. which works on legal, administrative, and legislative advocacy to advance the rights of low-income Marylanders. However, the Work Group's recommendations would span across many sectors and service by a representative from a non-profit organization focusing on civil rights and liberties is explicit in the required composition of the group in the enabling statute.
I am also a member of the Baltimore City's Mayor's Language Access Oversight Committee within MIMA in my personal capacity. This is a volunteer position, and the group provides advice to MIMA and assists MIMA in carrying out specific activities related to Language Access. Committee members advocate within the group for language access policies and service procedures that are inclusive.
I believe that my service on the Work Group would not present a conflict of interest based on my employment or volunteer work, but I wanted to be transparent out of immense caution.
