| Explaination | I consulted with Ms. Katherine Thompson on this issue / question and she kindly recommended I disclose this *possible* conflict in this manner. I own a consulting business, Critical Functions, LLC. This fall, I spoke informally with the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute about assisting with project management of a homeland security grant project. As of this date, December 5 2019, there has been no formal agreement or contract - and it is possible that MFRI will chose another solution. The project is connected with MEMA so there could be a potential for conflict of interest SHOULD I be asked to manage the project and SHOULD the Governor's Emergency Management Advisory Council (GEMAC) be tasked with any sort of decision making or oversight of the project. In such an case, I would gladly recuse myself of any decision making / discussions. Signed- Ryan A. Miller |
